QUERY V$ASM_FILE FROM 12.2 DB INSTANCE (Doc ID 2374519.1)

Symptoms

We may encounter below issues when querying v$asm_file from 12.2 RAC DB.

Issue 1:

DB instance only lists its own files and not others even other database's datafiles are stored in the same ASM diskgroup.

Issue 2:

A query of v$asm_file from DB instance returns no rows even it has files stored in ASM diskgroup.

Changes

 Newly created 12.2 DB using ASM diskgroup as storage.
