TNS Listener Crashes Intermittantly with No Error Message (Doc ID 237887.1)

Intermittent TNS listener crash. No errors are reported in the listener log or OS error logs.
Upon tracing the TNS listener, no errors are seen in the tail of the listener trace, when the crash occurs.
Truss of the listener process shows the following reported when the process crashes :

2740: Incurred fault #6, FLTBOUNDS %pc = 0xFFFFFFFF7D9499A4
2740: siginfo: SIGSEGV SEGV_MAPERR addr=0x4800014F412
2740: Received signal #11, SIGSEGV [default]
2740: siginfo: SIGSEGV SEGV_MAPERR addr=0x4800014F412
2740: *** process killed ***
FLTBOUNDS is boundary fault. This shows a memory address of 'FFFFFFFF' which is very high.
The Listener process has attempted to write beyond the boundary of current memory.
Segmentation violation exception is thrown(SIGSEG)and the listener process dies.
