Symptoms

REGEXP_REPLACE on an uninitialized CLOB variable in a record type fails with ORA-07445 [pesl_src_dst_cmp()+1026].

The behavior can be observed easily using below code snippet.

If l_rec.content is initialized with EMPTY_CLOB or with some text then the code does not fail.

Changes

None. The issue is seen even before any upgrade or bug fixes. Issue can be reproduced in all versions.
