Root Partition Becomes Read Only on a BDA Cluster and Access Raises "touch: cannot touch '<file>': Read-only file system" (Doc ID 2391701.1)

Symptoms

The root partition is found to be read only on one of the nodes.

At this point for example:

Additional symtoms

1. The ILOM snapshot, the ilom, hostconsole logs indicates that every disk is reporting I/O errors. If you grep the console logs for "I/O error" every disk is shown to report  the errors.

2. Since the root filesystem is read only it is not possible to run most commands like MegaCli to determine if a disk is failed.
