CM Reports "The host's Cloudera Manager Agent version (x.y.z1) does not match the Host Monitor version (x.y.z2)." For Cluster Edge Nodes (Doc ID 2392550.1)

Last updated on APRIL 28, 2018

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.5.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

The example here makes use of a BDA V4.11 cluster where CDH was upgraded from the default 5.13.1 to the certified version 5.13.3.

Cloudera Manager reports the following for cluster edge nodes:

The host is in contact with the Cloudera Manager Server. This host is in contact with
the Host Monitor. The host's Cloudera Manager Agent version (5.13.3) does not match
the Host Monitor version (5.13.1).

The sequence of events leading to this are:

1. CDH is upgraded to one of the non-default certified parcels listed in: Certified CDH Parcel Upgrades on BDA Mammoth Clusters (Doc ID 2262545.1).

In the example here CDH on BDA V4.11 is upgraded to the certified version CDH 5.13.3.

2. Cluster edge nodes have their Cloudera Manager (CM) packages upgraded to 5.13.3.

In other words the cloudera-scm-agent and cloudera-scm-daemons packages are upgraded to 5.13.3 on the cluster edge nodes.
