Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2020

Reprovisioning a node into the cluster fails at Step 7 when installing Hadoop at:

Error [46900]: (//<HOSTNAME3>.<DOMAIN>//Stage[main]/Hadoop::Installpkg2/Exec[deployparcel]/returns) change from notrun to 0 failed: /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/bdaconfig/tmp/ &> /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/bdaconfig/tmp/deployparcel_<ID>.out returned 1 instead of one of [0]

1. Navigating in Cloudera Manager (CM): hosts > parcels shows what looks like all the older parcels in /opt/cloudera/parcels being distributed to all cluster nodes.

For example /opt/cloudera/parcels contains:

and from hosts > parcels, it looks like all are being distributed to all cluster nodes.

2. Node nodes are heartbeating into the cluster and no services are up.

3. The CDH version does not show up on the Cloudera Manager home page next to the cluster name.
