Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner. 

After fully disabling On-Disk encryption from a cluster, such that running mount_hadoop_dirs is no longer required, Step 1 of Mammoth upgrade fails as below:

WARNING: The password for disk encryption is missing from the parameters file and is required for the installation.

It is also found that bdacli reports that on-disk encryption is enabled.
