The Data Node (ndbmtd/ndbd) Uses Too Much Memory

Information in this document applies to any platform.
The data node (the ndbmtd or ndbd process) compared to the expected given the configuration settings of DataMemory, IndexMemory, SendBufferMemory, ReceiveBufferMemory, SharedGlobalMemory, and other options that clearly are related to the memory usage.
The memory usage may have gone up after changing the configuration even if it was thought the setting should not affect the memory usage.
