After Node Reprovision the /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH Symbolic Link is Incorrectly Set (Doc ID 2398165.1)

Last updated on MAY 28, 2018

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.8.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

After node reprovision the /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH symbolic link is set incorrectly on the reprovisioned node..

For example in the case here, the symbolic link /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH on the node reprovisioned points to a previous CDH version not the current one.

In the case here, after reprovisioning a node into a BDA 4.8 / CDH 5.10.1 cluster the symbolic link for /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH incorrectly points to CDH-5.7.1-1.cdh5.7.1.p0.11.  It should point to CDH-5.10.1-1.cdh5.10.1.p0.10.

For example /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH is:

Note: Previous parcel versions are retained in /opt/cloudera/parcels by default.
