Impala and Yarn Jobs Have Degraded Performance Over Time On Systems with Heavy Linux Control Group Usage (Doc ID 2411555.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 19, 2020

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.6.0 and later

On systems with heavy Linux Control Group (Cgroup) usage the performance of impala and YARN jobs degrades over time.

Restarting the cluster remedies the situation temporarily and then the same performance degradation is observed.

For details on how to determine if Linux Control Groups are accumulating on the cluster, see: How to Determine if Linux Control Groups Are Not Cleaned Up (Doc ID 2719410.1).
