Goal

To monitor an OpenVMS process and trigger an email notification if it is idle or hung for some time. 

Reason: There are some situations where a process goes idle for a period of time then fails and it is difficult to reproduce the scenario. With the below script, a notification is sent for the hung scenario. The DBA or system administrator can then examine the process to try to determine if it is being blocked by another process or is running. RMU/SHOW STATISTICS -> Stall Messages could be executed at that time.
