Symptoms

When trying to apply an incremental backup, either the last binary log of the instance running on the host is removed or the operation fails.

If the apply-incremental-backup operation happens where there is a binary log with the same name as where the backup was created (for example, if you apply the incremental backup on the same host), the binary log that was the last at the time of the base backup (full backup) will be deleted.

If the binary log file does not exist, the apply-incremental-backup operation fails with the following error:
