12.2 : QOPatch fails with User-Defined Exception error (Doc ID 2433236.1)

Symptoms

Running datapatch -verbose ,fails with error:

sqlpatch_invocation log shows:
Bootstrapping registry and package to current versions...done
verify_queryable_inventory returned User-Defined Exception

Queryable inventory could not determine the current opatch status.
Execute 'select dbms_sqlpatch.verify_queryable_inventory from dual' and/or
check the invocation log

Ran the query from sqlplus:
SQL> select dbms_sqlpatch.verify_queryable_inventory from dual ;

VERIFY_QUERYABLE_INVENTORY
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
User-Defined Exception

 

 

Changes

 There is a lock generated by MMON,which does not get released
