Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An unexpected ORA-00600[pmus.C#103] is raised while executing a package having collection variables used in an assignment statement.
For example, the following code can be used to reproduce the issue.

Changes

The same code works fine in 11.2.0.4 environment. It starts failing from database version 12.1.0.1.0. The issue can only be reproduced when the package is compiled in a database where NLS_CHARACTERSET is set to a single byte character set like WE8MSWIN1252 or US7ASCII. However, development have confirmed that the issue can manifest in some way or other irrespective of the character set used.
