How to Reimage a Node Using NFS on BDA X5-2 and Higher Servers (Doc ID 2447669.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 2.0.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

This note details how to reimage a node using NFS. They provided a second option for the steps documented in: Steps For Re-imaging a Single BDA Server Using CD-ROM Redirection(Doc ID 1559505.1). The steps apply to X5-2 and higher BDA servers. This is because the ILOM version needs to support the option: Remote Control > Host Storage Device and this is only present on X5-2 and higher.  The recommended reimage option for X5-2 and higher servers, if reimage is required, is to use the steps provided here.

The example here reimages an X6-2 server. Node 1 of the cluster hosts the iso in the NFS shared folder and Node 9 is the one being reimaged.
