Records Left Unpurged in AWR Tables Exceeding Retention Policy
(Doc ID 2462687.1)

Goal
Sometimes old entries are left unpurged in the views DBA_HIST_REPORTS, DBA_HIST_REPORTS_DETAILS, DBA_HIST_REPORTS_TIMEBANDS. These views are created on top of underlying partitioned tables, which normally should be managed via the AWR retention policy. The tables are WRP$_REPORTS', 'WRP$_REPORTS_DETAILS', and 'WRP$_REPORTS_TIME_BANDS'. These records will span across partitions that may far exceed the customers retention policy, thus sometimes not being cleaned up.
