How to Find the Latest UEK4 Kernel in the Oracle Linux Public Yum Repository Recommended for Kernel Upgrade on the BDA (Doc ID 2469523.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

When a BDA UEK4 kernel upgrade is required it is necessary to follow the steps in the MOS note: How To Upgrade a Kernel on BDA V4.2 and Higher/V4.1 (Doc ID 2033797.1). From there the general recommendation is to upgrade to the latest UEK4 kernel in public yum.

The steps here identify the latest UEK4 kernel in public yum which can be upgraded to. This will be the kernel that following BDA V4.2 and Higher/V4.1 (Doc ID 2033797.1) will upgrade to if the steps to upgrade to the latest supported are followed.  This information would be useful if you want to know latest kernel supported for upgrade or if you want to set up a local repository as described in: How to Set Up a User Local Repository for Upgrading the BDA Kernel (Doc ID 2342830.1).
