ABEND S0E0-28 IN MIRFOR AFTER UPGRADING TO Z/OS 2.3 WHEN CONNECTING THROUGH DBLINK TO DB ON Z/OS (Doc ID 2472495.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.2.0.5 to 10.2.0.5 [Release 10.2]
Operating System Dependent Interface - Version 1.2.1 to 1.2.1
IBM z/OS on System z

Symptoms

After upgrading to z/OS version 2.2 or 2.3, get ORA-12547 when connecting through a database link DBlink (dba_db_links) on z/OS to a 10.2.0.5 database on the same z/OS host.

Both Oracle Databases are of the same Oracle version, Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 P19.

Connections via database links to Unix hosts work without errors.

Database connections within the z/OS host also work if the client is on Windows or Unix.

The SQL*Plus client reports:

 SQL>
select count (*) from dba_db_links@<dblink_name>;
 select count (*) from dba_db_links@<dblink_name>
