12.2 rootupgrade.sh Fails Due to CLSRSC-422:Failed to Perform ACFS Registry Upgrade (Doc ID 2490712.1)

Symptoms


When upgrading Grid Infrastructure from 11.2.0.4 to 12.2.0.1, rootupgrade.sh fails due to CLSRSC-422: Failed to perform ACFS registry upgrade.

If the ACFS is used in the environment, rootupgrade logs have following messages:

root_<node1>_<date time stamp>.log inside <ORACLE_BASE>/crsdata/<node name>/crsconfig:

Oracle Clusterware active version was successfully set to 12.2.0.1.0.
2018/10/12 20:15:01 CLSRSC-479: Successfully set Oracle Clusterware active version
2018/10/12 20:15:10 CLSRSC-476: Finishing upgrade of resource types
2018/10/12 20:16:11 CLSRSC-482: Running command: 'srvctl upgrade model -s 11.2.0.4.0 -d 12.2.0.1.0 -p last'
2018/10/12 20:16:11 CLSRSC-477: Successfully completed upgrade of resource types
ASMCMD-9470: ASM proxy instance unavailable <<<<<<<<<<<<<
ASMCMD-9473: volume STATE will show as REMOTE
PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.<DGNAME>.<VOLUME_NAME>.advm
CRS-2527: Unable to start 'ora.<DGNAME>.<VOLUME_NAME>.advm' because it has a 'hard' dependency on 'ora.proxy_advm'
CRS-2501: Resource 'ora.proxy_advm' is disabled
2018/10/12 20:16:26 CLSRSC-180: An error occurred while executing the command '<12.2 GRID_HOME>/bin/srvctl start volume -g <DGNAME>
-volume <VOLUME_NAME>'
2018/10/12 20:16:28 CLSRSC-420: The ACFS registration for device '/dev/asm/<VOLUME_DEVICE>' on mount path '<PATH>' could not
be registered with CRS.
2018/10/12 20:16:28 CLSRSC-422: Failed to perform ACFS registry upgrade.
