Symptoms

After BDA upgrade to BDA 4.11 or higher Hue fails to start with:

Configuration files located in /var/run/cloudera-scm-agent/process/<ID>-hue-HUE_SERVER

Potential misconfiguration detected. Fix and restart Hue.

DATABASE_CHARACTER_SET Character set of search field in desktop_document2 table is not UTF-8.
NOTE: Configure the database for character set AL32UTF8 and national character set UTF8.


Note: The "desktop_document2" table is a default table used in Hue to store user queries, reference https://community.cloudera.com/t5/Support-Questions/Where-can-I-find-Saved-Queries-from-HUE-UI/m-p/286908 .

Changes

 Upgrade to BDA version 4.11 or higher.
