ORA-600 [kghsstream_readn] Converting BLOB to CLOB with getClobval() in Parallel (Doc ID 2499746.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.1.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Trying to convert a BLOB to CLOB in parallel with getClobval() fails with ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kghsstream_readn], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [].

This doesn't happen when executed serially.

In the case from which this document was created, we noticed that it only happens when parallel_execution_message_size is set to 64K. If parallel_execution_message_size was set to 16K it worked even if done in parallel.
