Symptoms
When there are idle DRCP connections left in the database, shutdown immediate command delays for several minutes, waiting for DRCP processes to end.
Following is an example alert.log output from this situation:

This issue is seen when DRCP (Database Resident Connection Pool) is configured in the server.
