Enqueue Message Larger Than 1 MB - OCI Application Reports ORA-03146: invalid buffer length for TTC field (Doc ID 2515218.1)

Symptoms


In a 12.1.0.2 database, enqueue of a message of RAW type and length greater or equal to 1048576 (hex 100000), OCI application reports the following error:

 

Creating the OCI Environment
Allocating all Handles and Connecting...
Error Handle
Server Handle
Attaching
Service Context
Setting Attribute
Connecting as AQUSER
Obtain the TDO of the RAW data type
Prepare the message payload
Enqueue the message into raw_msg_queue

Error - ORA-03146: invalid buffer length for TTC field

Changes

 Upgraded 11g database to 12c.  This issue didn't exist in 11g.
