ZDLRA - RMAN Restore/duplicate Tries To Get Files From DOWNSTREAM ZDLRA Instead Of UPSTREAM ZDLRA (Doc ID 2517176.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance Software - Version 12.1.1.1.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There are 2 ZDLRA's. ZDLRA 'zdlra1' is the UPSTREAM ZDLRA and zdlra2 is DOWNSTREAM.

RMAN backups are written to 'zdlra1'. These backup sets are REPLICATED to offsite, DOWNSTREAM, ZDLRA 'zdlra2'.

When trying to perform any RMAN 'duplicate' of a protected database,

RMAN is attempting to pull the backup pieces from the DOWNSTREAM, offsite, ZDLRA - 'zdlra2' -

even though the backup pieces are (should be) on the UPSTREAM ZDLRA - 'zdlra1'. Ultimately, the RMAN 'duplicate' times-out and fails.

All RMAN operations are performed using the UPSTREAM 'zdlra1' catalog, and, the auxiliary channels are configured for the same UPSTREAM ZDLRA 'zdlra1'.
