Partitioned Spatial Index Invalidated when a Procedure Splits a Partition (Doc ID 2519491.1)

Last updated on MARCH 18, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Spatial and Graph - Version 11.2.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Data is not able to insert into a partitioned table with a partitioned spatial index.

"JDBC error reported: (SQLState = HY000) - java.sql.SQLException: [tibcosoftwareinc][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]
ORA-29875: failed in the execution of the ODCIINDEXINSERT routine
ORA-13209: internal error while reading SDO_INDEX_METADATA table
ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 720
ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 225
"

Changes

Executing a procedure to split the partition of a locally partitioned spatial index makes the partition unusable. Splitting the partition manually does not raise the error.
