PX Worker Load not Evenly Distributed across RAC Nodes
(Doc ID 2537986.1)
Last updated on JULY 20, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.1.0.1 to 18.1.0.0.0 [Release 12.1 to 18]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The majority of PX workers are repeatedly allocated to the same RAC node that has a significantly higher load than the other RAC nodes.
In this example, it was Node 2 of an 8-node RAC cluster that was always picked for worker allocation, when in fact it was significantly more loaded than the other nodes. Tracing with [PX_Control] and [PX_Messaging] shows that resource manager estimates the load on Node 2 is low.
