PERFORMANCE IMPACTED FOR HIGHER LOOP INDEX AFTER UPGRADE FROM 11G TO 12.2. (Doc ID 2541334.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 19, 2019

Applies to:

PL/SQL - Version 12.2.0.1 and later
Generic (Platform Independent)

Symptoms

There is a DIFFERENCE in OS (Unix) system calls between Oracle version 12.2.0.1 and 11.2.0.4 for PL/SQL call each exception no_data_found causes a single read of oraru.msb file. The impact of this is higher cpu consumption and excessive locks on file system level.
In 12.2 version, many unix "read" calls are being used and it is impacting the performance. 11g does not have this problem and performance is good.

Changes

 Upgraded to 12.2 from 11g.
