Last updated on APRIL 09, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.1.0.1 to 18.1.0.0.0 [Release 12.1 to 18]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Ruled subscribers in RAC for sharded queues have issues with dequeue. The dequeue affinities of ruled subscribers are not

shifted correctly thereby stopping cross instance dequeues of ruled subscribers in sharded queues. The problem is as follows:

If there are two instances(inst1 and inst2) on RAC.

On Inst1:

1) Create two ruled subscribers(sub1, sub2) for a sharded queue.

2) Enqueue 5 messages each on to two subscribers.

On Inst2:

1) Dequeue the messages of sub1 and sub2.

In this case mentioned above dequeue is failing hence the test is going to indefinite wait.
