Application Containers In Physical Standby Data Guard Environment (Doc ID 2545894.1)

Last updated on MARCH 26, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Are there any special requirements to take into account when using multi-tenant application containers in a physical standby environment?

How does the standby deal with the situation of a new application version? The temporary clone being created during an application upgrade?

For example:

alter pluggable database application <application name> begin upgrade '1.0' to '1.1';

This command creates a clone of the database which users are directed to until the end upgrade command is issued. How does Data Guard handle this?
