Owner of files under $GI_HOME/bin is changed incorrectly after rollback 190416 Bundle Patch (Doc ID 2565676.1)

Symptoms

Owner of files under $GI_HOME/bin (like $GI_HOME/bin/oracle) is changed to root incorrectly after following operation.

  1. Apply 190416 Bundle Patch (like 12.1.0.2.190416 GIPSU)
  2. Rollback 190416 Bundle Patch (like 12.1.0.2.190416 GIPSU)
  3. run "rootcrs.pl -prepatch" to apply patch
  4. apply patch on $GI_HOME
  5. run "rootcrs.pl -postpatch"

Problem happens at above step 5.
Owner of files under $GI_HOME is changed as follows.

 

Changes

Apply 190416 Bundle Patch (like 12.1.0.2.190416 GIPSU) and rollback it
