Symptoms
MySQL Server 8.0.16 runs with option skip_name_resolve=ON .
Create a user account for mysqlbackup on MySQL Server with IPv4 local host address as the host part, e.g. 'backupuser'@'127.0.0.1' .
Use MySQL Enterprise Backup (MEB) 8.0.16 to do a backup, for example:
It shows that mysqlbackup ignores option --host=127.0.0.1 and tries to connect to the server using the IPv6 local host address instead of the IPv4 one.
Changes
Install or Upgrade to MySQL server 8.0.16 and MEB 8.0.16
