Symptoms

When setting CPU_COUNT to a high value on engineered systems such as Exadata and Automatic Shared Memory Management (ASMM) or Automatic Memory Management (AMM) is in use, it is noticed that the shared pool and/or buffer cache is smaller than expected. This can lead to ORA-4031 'unable to allocate xx bytes of shared memory' errors in the shared pool.
