Symptoms

datapatch on PDB  fails with error :

1) Invalid sys object .

Installing patches...
Patch installation complete.  Total patches installed: 1

Validating logfiles...
Patch patch_num apply (pdb PDB): WITH ERRORS
 logfile: <log location>/patch_num_apply_<DB>_<PDB>_<timestamp>.log (errors)
   Error at line 2474: ORA-65047: Object SYS.DBMS_REGISTRY_EXTENDED is invalid or compiled with errors

Patch apply log shows :

SQL> begin
 2 for invalid_object in
 3 (select object_id
 4 from dba_objects
 5 where status = 'INVALID'
 6 order by object_id)
 7 loop
 8 dbms_utility.validate(invalid_object.object_id);
 9 end loop;
