ORA-4021 Raised During COMMIT And Message "qsmqChkOCMV : Timeout while locking object" Appears In Alert.log (Doc ID 2615963.1)

Symptoms

ORA-4021 "timeout occurred while waiting to lock object" error was raised during COMMIT of a transaction which modified a table which is a primary of a materialized view.

At that time, message "qsmqChkOCMV : Timeout while locking object:XXXXX" was printed in the alert.log.

 

Changes

Issue may occur on release 12.2.0.1 and onwards. User may experience this issue after upgrading to 12.2.0.1.
