Symptoms
On : 12.2.0.1 version, Clusterware, While installing GI as a part of pre-check you may encounter below:
Kernel retpoline support - Checks that kernel had retpoline enabled Details:
PRVE-10314 : Kernel does not have retpoline enabled on node "<hostname>".
Cause: The Cluster Verification Utility (CVU) determined that the kernel did not have the Spectre V2 retpoline mitigation which impacted the performance of Oracle ACFS. -
Action: Ensure that the kernel has retopline mitigation enabled. Consult the operating system vendor documentation on Spectre V2 retpoline mitigation to ensure that retpoline capability is correctly enabled and installed.
