Symptoms

- When your SQL*Net clients connect to an Oracle Rdb database the following error is returned:

ERROR: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Database not setup correctly for Oracle SQL*Net for Rdb.
For details, look in Oracle SQL/Services executor log file:
$1$DKB100:[<DIRECTORY>]SQS_CHVMSX_MPJ_OC00H000271.LOG;2

- You have just reinstalled (deinstall+install) SQL/Services in your system (or you have deinstalled old version and, later, have installed new version).

- You only have a version of SQL/Services in your system.

- SHOW PROTECTION ON DATABASE doesn't show SQLNET4RDB identifier but a hexadecimal identifier is showed with all privileges:

SQL> SHOW PROTECTION ON DATABASE RDB$DBHANDLE;
Protection on Alias RDB$DBHANDLE
(IDENTIFIER=%X80010015,ACCESS=SELECT+INSERT+UPDATE+DELETE+SHOW+CREATE+
ALTER+DROP+DBCTRL+OPERATOR+DBADM+SECURITY+DISTRIBTRAN)
