Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition
Linux on IBM Z

Purpose

This note explains the requirements that need to be met for a successful installation of Oracle RDBMS 19c release on SUSE 12 on IBM: Linux on System z (s390x).

These guidelines apply single instance installations.

It is NOT the purpose of this NOTE to repeat every "how-to" step that is presented in the 19c Installation Guide manual. For example, this NOTE does not include how to create the Linux OS account named "oracle", nor does it cover how to set environment variables. Both are adequately covered in the 19c Installation Guide manuals found here.
