Symptoms

After an unexpected MySQL server halt (eg. kill -9 on Unix or shuts down abnormally) for the replication source running XA transactions, the replica SQL thread may fail with Error 'XAER_NOTA: Unknown XID', Error_code: 1397 when the source is recovered and the replication is resuming. Here is an example of the error message on the replica:
