Required Patch 30848257 for Big Data SQL 4.0 to Provide Enhanced Hadoop Client Installation and SSL Certificate Auto Renewal (Doc ID 2637854.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 11, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Big Data SQL - Version 4.0 to 4.0 [Release 4.0]
Linux x86-64

Purpose

Provide the details and background for applying Patch 30848257 on Big Data SQL 4.0 clusters.

Patch 30848257 resolves two critical Big Data SQL 4.0 symptoms:

  1. The database side root-script removes the working directory content if the CDH6 Hadoop client installation is not successful.
  2. Jaguar execution will fail some days after the first setup saying it is not able to analyze all cluster nodes due to SSL certificate expiration.

Note: Big Data SQL 4.0 is the version on BDA 5.1. Therefore the patch applies to BDA 5.1 and stand alone installations of BDSQL 4.0.0.

Scope

Big Data SQL 4.0 clusters.  This includes Big Data SQL 4.0 on BDA 5.1 and stand alone installations of BDSQL 4.0.0.
