Backup of Group Replication Error "Cannot establish connection for user 'mysqlbackup'" (Doc ID 2638286.1)

Symptoms

The following error occurs backing up group replication using a single account for backup with host as <host name>.

[root@onode1 local]# mysqlbackup -u mysqlbackup -pmysql --backup-dir=/home/local/backups --with-timestamp --backup-image=innodb.mib backup-to-image

Starting with following command line ...
mysqlbackup -u mysqlbackup -pxxxxx --backup-dir=/home/local/backups
--with-timestamp --backup-image=innodb.mib backup-to-image

IMPORTANT: Please check that mysqlbackup run completes successfully.
At the end of a successful 'backup-to-image' run mysqlbackup
prints "mysqlbackup completed OK!".

200205 08:08:03 MAIN INFO: No SSL options specified.
200205 08:08:03 MAIN ERROR: Cannot establish connection for user 'mysqlbackup'
to mysql server using default connection. Connection open fails with error
"Access denied for user 'mysqlbackup'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"
200205 08:08:03 MAIN ERROR: Connection initialization error.

mysqlbackup exit code: 11, Connection to server failed

mysqlbackup failed with errors!
[root@onode1 local]#

Creating a single mysql backup user with 'localhost' as the host name there is a similar problem.

[root@onode1 backups]# mysqlbackup -u mysqlbackup -pmysql --backup-dir=/home/local/backups --with-timestamp --backup-image=innodb.mib backup-to-image

mysqlbackup exit code: 11, Connection to server failed

mysqlbackup failed with errors!
[root@onode1 backups]#

 Trying to use --host option or TCP protocol option doesn't help.
