Deleted Services Are Not Cleaned Up from X$KSWSASTAB, Causing Slowness In Querying GV$ACTIVE_SERVICES (Doc ID 2639579.1)

Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running a query which joins gv$active_services view, you may encounter slowness due to excessive cpu load or "latch: active service list" wait event, especially when the view is joined with another table/view using nested loops join.

In one report, problem was seen with a query (sql_id=bhjxxwujr3ac3) which is executed from Enterprise Manager agent.

Changes

This is a dataguard environment, and there has been a switchover from standby to primary database.
