Opatchauto Fails With "Java Heap Space" During apply Of Latest Grid Infrastructure RU (Doc ID 2647030.1)

Symptoms

Opatchauto fails with "java heap space error"while attempting to patch Grid Infrastructure home on a 2-node RAC cluster,First node patched successfully.
 

opatchauto apply /PATCH_STAGE_LOCATION>/JAN2020/30480702 -oh /<GRID_HOME_PATH>

We get a failure after about 3 mins:
