Symptoms
User is trying to re-create a Materialized view
Interrupts the Materialized view drop command issued from SQL Plus or OEM
Issues the drop command again
Returns the message that the Materialized view is not existing
Queries DBA_MVIEWS for the materialized view
+ Returns no rows
Queries DBA_TABLES for underlying table
+ Table with the same name existing
Tries to drop the underlying table. Returns error
ORA-12083: must use DROP MATERIALIZED VIEW to drop %s . %s
Tries to recreate the Materialized view on this table with prebuilt table option. Returns error
ORA-04020: deadlock detected while trying to lock object.
