Symptoms

After successful installation of Oracle Database using Oracle Database RPM using yum, all of multi byte characters are replaced by square box when Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) are invoked.

Changes

LANG environment variable for Oracle software owner (typically, oracle) was changed to any other multi byte locales(e.g. ja_JP.UTF-8) from single byte locales(e.g. en_US.UTF-8).
