Purpose

 This document provides guidance on the various Java usages and upgrade paths on a standard deployed Exadata database node. Java Standard Edition (SE) updates are documented in the quarterly Critical Patch Updates. The installation of Java is provided in the corresponding Java Development Kit (JDK) or Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
