Purpose

This Document details about the parameter DB_BLOCK_SIZE.

DB_BLOCK_SIZE specifies (in bytes) the size of Oracle database blocks. The range of values for this parameter between 2048 and 32768.
The value of this parameter must be a multiple of the physical block size at the device level. The default value is 8192.

This value can only be set during DB creation time.
For Real Application Clusters, this parameter affects the maximum value of the FREELISTS storage parameter for tables and indexes.
