"CREATE LOCAL TEMPORARY TABLESPACE" - "FOR RIM" or "FOR LEAF" - Documentation Bug? (Doc ID 2674918.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 10, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.6.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Mismatch in the documentation: SQL Reference states "FOR LEAF" must be used to create a local temporary tablespace for RAC Reader Nodes, the RAC Deployment Guide states "FOR RIM".

- Documentation link to the section of the 19c-SQL-Reference (which is "FOR LEAF"):

Database / Oracle / Oracle Database / Release 19
SQL Language Reference

temporary_tablespace_clause

- Documentation link to the section of the 19c-RAC-Deployment Guide (which is "FOR RIM"):

Database / Oracle / Oracle Database / Release 19
Real Application Clusters Administration and Deployment Guide

Local Temporary Tablespace Organization

The latter one for RIM leads to an error ("ORA-00901: invalid CREATE command")
