Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.3.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It has been not possible to use DG Broker for setting a database instance local online redo log archive destination in versions prior to 19c

Version 19c introduced a new DG Broker property - ArchiveLocation , that allowed this process to be managed via DG Broker.

The goal of this document is to provide explanation on how a database instance local online redo log archive destination could be set/managed by using DGMGRL.

The ArchiveLocation configurable property specifies the online redo log archive location for primary, logical, and snapshot standby databases.

== > the default value is null

== > An empty value means you do not want broker to manage the online archive location.

The parameter log_archive_dest_1 will be used to demonstrate this ability.
