Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) Reports Error `products.xml is either a directory or is a corrupt file` (Doc ID 270046.1)

After successfully installing OUI from the RDBMS patchset, you now try to execute it from the ORACLE_HOME/bin directory:


When you click on 'Next' on the 'File Locations' screen, you get the error:

"..../Disk1/stage/products.xml is either a directory , or is a corrupt file.
Specify a filename."

You have verified that the file products.xml really exists.

If you run OUI from the directory where you unzipped the patchset, it works correctly.
