Symptoms

Referencing A Package Variable Across A Database Link Pls-00222

The following is the scenario:

(i) Suppose ,we have a package test1 containing a package variable g_value INTEGER := 5 in database db1 on machine m1.

(ii) A dblink "link1" is created to another database db2 on machine m2.

(iii) Doing a select count(*) from users@link1 on db1 will work.

(iv) However, when trying to access the package variable test1.g_value from machine m2, the PLS-222 error occurs.
